Roots was born from a simple concept and the determination to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots, driven by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. Starting in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to offer high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber clothing, and home furnishings. The leather goods have always been and remain crafted in Canada at our own Toronto factory.
